Spartan Kids Foundation Fitness Grant Program

The Spartan Kids Foundation Fitness Grant Program supports schools and youth organizations in promoting physical fitness with locally designed programs that fit each community’s unique culture and goals.

These grants are offered throughout the year. Schools with students K-12 and youth organizations are invited to apply for $1,000 grants to support their fitness efforts. Parent Teacher Organizations are also eligible to apply with a letter of support from their partner schools. Spartan Kids Foundation encourages and seeks partners with creative ideas designed to best engage local youth. Grants have been used for a wide range of programs such as equipment for a soccer field, juggling instruction, yoga mats, and playground supplies. Funds can also be used to hire coaches on-site.

A list of our current grant schedule can be found here. When a grant cycle is open, schools or their partner PTO as well as youth organizations can apply using our online grant application available here. Recognizing the heavy demands on the time of teachers and school administrators, the application is designed to be simple and easy to complete. Applicants are encouraged to show their creativity and understanding of their local school or organization’s needs with the proposal of innovative programs and approaches to promoting student wellness and physical fitness. While not all schools and organizations that apply are guaranteed funding, all eligible applicants will receive access to free registrations for an upcoming local race that they can disburse to their student community.

Free Registration to a Spartan Kids Race for Students at Partner Schools and Organizations

Free Race Tickets Used as Fundraising Platform

Spartan Physical Fitness Educational Curriculum-BOKS partnership

Spartan Kids Foundation has partnered with BOKS (Build Our Success) to develop a free functional fitness program to keep high schoolers engaged in physical activity. The BOKS High School Curriculum X Spartan is a free, 8-week program designed to keep kids, who otherwise may not participate in any physical activity, healthy and active. The program provides high school-aged kids with an opportunity to join a non-competitive program focused on self-improvement, teamwork, and fun.

Each lesson includes activities to develop fitness skills as well as practice mindfulness. All participants in the curriculum receive free registration to an upcoming Spartan Race, allowing them an opportunity to display and put to work their newly developed skills and team work.

This curriculum is made available for free to partner schools. If you are interested in more information or want to partner with us, please contact us here.
