SPARTAN RACE AND SHRINERS HOSPITALS FOR CHILDREN IN HOUSTON CONQUER OBSTACLES TOGETHER

Shriners Hospital for Children, Houston, was the first city that the Spartan Kids Foundation worked with in the new fundraising model, and is a perfect partner based on all of their community support in the city. Our initiative aimed to raise awareness and funds for Shriners while giving young patients with orthopedic conditions the opportunity to compete in the race and discover their ability to conquer physical obstacles.

Kids, all with orthopedic conditions, had a blast running in the Spartan Kids Race in Houston. Payten, an 8-year-old patient, completed the course with her sister and reported that this was one of his best days ever! Fellow patient Deaken was so thrilled he actually made more work for his mom. She reports that Deaken is so incredibly proud of himself. I’ve washed his finisher shirt daily because he wants to wear it every day!
